Muppet icon, Kermit the Frog, has filed a defamation lawsuit against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The lawsuit comes in response to Jones' on-air tirade, where he claimed that, "The government is putting chemicals in the water that turn the friggin’ frogs gay," and that, “The majority of frogs in most areas of the United States are now gay."
In the preliminary hearing, attorneys for Mr. Kermit argued that their client has suffered tremendous emotional distress and damage to his public image resulting from the insinuations made by Jones, and that Mr. Kermit's social and professional relationships have been disrupted because of doubts surrounding his sexual orientation. Furthermore, they claim that Jones' allegations were also the root cause of Mr. Kermit's separation from Miss Piggy in 2015.
In a press conference held outside the courtroom, Mr. Kermit's lawyer told reporters that, "My client has spent decades spreading joy and laughter, only to have his reputation tarnished by the outlandish claims of Mr. Jones. Although Mr. Kermit fully supports the LGBTQ+ agenda, he identifies as a straight green male has never been unfaithful to Miss Piggy in any capacity."
